Ways to Celebrate Pride Month with Your Dog

Happy Pride! Choose Love - Celebrate With Your Pup

Hey there, fabulous pawrents! 🏳️‍🌈 This Pride Month, let's embrace love, acceptance, and all the colors of the rainbow! Whether you're a dog mom or dad, or a proud parent of any pet, we're here to say Happy Pride!

And what better way to celebrate than with your fur baby by your side! Here are 6 fun ways to wag our tails and celebrate diversity:

#1

ATTEND PRIDE PARADES OR PET-FRIENDLY PRIDE EVENTS

Many cities organize Pride parades and events that are pet-friendly. Check your local community calendar to see if there are any pet-centric Pride activities happening near you. Join in the festivities and proudly walk with your dog to celebrate love and equality.

#2

DRESS UP YOUR PUP

Show your support for the LGBTQ+ community by dressing up your furry friend in colorful Pride-themed outfits, bandanas, or accessories. You can find rainbow-themed collars, leashes, or harnesses to give them a vibrant and festive look.

#3

SHARE YOUR PRIDE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Take adorable photos of your pup with Pride-themed decorations or props and share them on your social media platforms. Use hashtags like #PridePups or #LoveIsLove to spread the message of inclusivity and acceptance. You may also consider updating your profile picture or cover photo with a Pride-themed image featuring your dog. And don’t forget to take us @wagandwonder so we can see all the fun you’re having!

#4

SUPPORT LGBTQ+ DOG ORGANIZATIONS

Research and donate (your time or money) to LGBTQ+ focused animal rescue organizations, shelters, or advocacy groups. These organizations often work to provide safe spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals and their pets, offer assistance with pet-related issues, and promote equality within the animal welfare community.

#5

LEARN AND EDUCATE

Take the opportunity to educate yourself and others about LGBTQ+ history, struggles, and achievements. Read books, watch documentaries, or listen to podcasts that highlight LGBTQ+ voices and experiences. Share what you've learned with friends, family, and fellow dog parents to promote understanding and empathy.

#6

FOSTER OR ADOPT A SHELTER PET

Consider opening your home and heart to a shelter pet, especially those who may have been abandoned or overlooked due to their breed, age, or appearance. Providing a safe and loving environment for an animal in need is a wonderful way to celebrate love and acceptance during Pride Month.

 Rainbow Flag

Acting with love, compassion, and respect for all individuals is something our pets teach us every day so let’s take a cue from them while we celebrate Pride Month!
